By Chaoyang Reservoir, I caught sight of three young strangers.
They were playing a game: throwing torpedoes, a type of firecracker, into the reservoir.
The reservoir was vast, and the echoes thundered loudly.
It was like a meteor falling from the sky,
skimming across the water’s surface and crashing into the past.

Watching them,
I thought of my three old friends.
Staring at the scene,
I prayed silently in my heart —

May the torpedoes blast the reservoir apart,
let the water surge down the highway,
until it submerges Chaoyang Town, Lezhi County, the Sichuan Basin and Asia.
