Paradies Spielen

Paradies Spielen, the final part of Thomas Köck’s “Climate Trilogy,” unfolds aboard a high-speed train that never stops. As the journey accelerates without end, its passengers spiral into collective panic and psychological disorientation.
Running in parallel are interwoven narratives: the migration of Chinese tailors travelling from Zhengzhou to Prato in Italy, and a daughter’s anguished monologue beside her father in a burn intensive care unit.
These layered storylines converge to confront the fractures of contemporary society — alienation, ecological crisis, the instability of borders, and the struggles of human existence.
In the end, the train breaks into an endless cycle, where absurdity and illusion collapse into one. Within this looping horizon, the work poses a final question: why do we continue to move forward, toward a distant elsewhere?
