Puddles and Amazons is a one-man storytelling comedy. Simon eats an ice cream at the moment he finds out his mother's died. He gets a brain freeze, and it spreads through his whole body. He becomes 4 degrees Celsius indefinitely. Woods tells Simon’s story using live audio mixing with a loop pedal, a paddling pool and occasional audience interaction. We follow Simon growing up and see him grapple with his father’s stoicism, grief, sexuality, and the larger-than-life agony of being a teenager. A comedy-drama with DIY staging and a lot of water.
